Three, including son of police constable, die in target killings
KARACHI: Three people, including son of a police constable, died in target killings in the metropolis on Wednesday. Two people, including son of a police constable, were shot dead and another person was injured in Mewashah Road area within the limits of Chakiwara police station.
The incident took place near Madina Mosque when unidentified armed men, riding on a motorcycle, opened fire on a motorcyclist Adnan, resultantly he and two passersby, nine-year-old Akbar and Fayyaz, 23, received bullet injuries. After committing the crime, culprits managed to flee from the scene. Police shifted them to Civil Hospital Karachi where during treatment Adnan and Akbar succumbed to their injuries. A police official said victim Adnan was a resident of Ghanchi Para and belonged to Kachhi community, while Akbar was a resident of Kalakot police line. Police revealed that Adnan was the target of culprits and he had no affiliation with any political party. No case was registered till filing the report. Separately, a man was shot dead near telephone exchange within the limits of Quaidabad police station. Javed, 32, son of Ali Asghar, a resident of Mohammad Nagar, Landhi, was going home on his motorcycle when unidentified armed men, riding on a bike, opened fire on him; resultantly he received five bullets and died on the spot. The culprits fled after swift operation. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. A police official said some cases against the victim had been registered at Sharafi Goth and Landhi police stations. “Now-a-days, he used to work in car dealings,” he further informed. The official said the victim had no affiliation with any political or religious party. The police have recovered six empty shells from the scene. The victim was father of two children and hailed from Mansehra. No case was registered till filing the report.
