Islamabad: Police foil two more terror bids
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police on Thursday seized two consignments of illegal arms and ammunition from two vehicles in separate incidents, foiling terrorism bids in the federal capital that authorities say may have been linked to the startling capture of heavy arms three days ago. Police arrested four persons who are currently under interrogation for links with terrorist groups.
CIA (Crime Investigation Agency) and Golra police intercepted two vehicles in different areas following information provided by the intelligence agencies.
CIA recovered three AK-47, seven pistols, three 12-bore rifles, two push-push weapons (guns with telescopes), two machine guns and 5,000 bullets of different calibers from a Toyota Corolla car (bearing registration number LHV-252). The car was intercepted on GT Road at Tarnol. Similarly, Golra police seized 10 pistols, five AK-47 guns, five 12-bore rifles, two machine guns and 11,420 bullets.
