Rawalpindi: Lawyer accused of preparing fake bail papers held
Rawalpindi: Advocate Faiz Ali Cheema, who was arrested by the Civil Line Police on the order of the additional sessions judge on Sunday, was involved in preparation of fake bail documents and release of 68 hardened criminals, including a notorious Bishoo dacoit, from the Adiala Jail, police claimed here on Monday.
Faiz Ali Cheema, the former executive member of the Lahore High Court Bar, was arrested with the consent of District Bar Association, the police said. The prosecution said that the accused prepared fake bail documents of 68 hardened criminals with the fake signatures of Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Iqbal Chadhar during 10-day holidays of courts when he was duty judge and produced them before the jail administration. He managed to get release of 68 criminals involved in murders, rapes, dacoities and kidnapping for ransom through these documents.
The mystery revealed when the accused managed to release one Asghar Hussain whose bail was rejected by the same court just one day before.
The police have arrested four persons including Zahid (Munshi), Shakil, Gulsher and Faiz, while the police are raiding to arrest Sohail and three other lawyers who were said to be the part of the offence.
