Karachi: ‘Target killer’ of 42 people held
Karachi: The Clifton police on Tuesday arrested an alleged target killer associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) who was said to be involved in killing 42 people.
The police claimed to have recovered two 7mm rifle, one Kalashanikov, four TT pistols, two hand grenades and a number of bullets from him.
Acting on a tip-off that some suspects who had been involved in a number of killings were hiding in a house in Clifton, SHO Shafiq Tanoli, along with a police team, rushed to the house near Block-7.
Upon seeing police mobiles approaching, the suspects opened fire, which was retaliated. The police arrested Asif Iqbal while his two accomplices managed to flee.
During the initial interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he, along with his accomplices, had killed more then 42 people in different parts of the city.
