Lahore: Factory owner found strangled
LAHORE: A middle-aged factory owner was found strangled at his business place in Shadipura locality of Baghbanpura on Tuesday.
Baghbanpura SHO Shakeel Ahmad said Muhammad Hafeez (56), father of two, who dealt in iron bars, left his home on Monday morning for his office but did not return.
As Hafeez’s wife made a call on his cell phone it was responded by a stranger who after introducing himself as Ilyas asked her to send the victim’s motorcycle at a filling station as he (Hafeez) needed it. The victim’s wife did what she was told to do.
Later, the victim’s cell phone was powered-off and there was no clue to his motorcycle.
The SHO said the same man (Ilyas) phoned Hafeez’s wife from the victim’s cell phone around 5am and told her that Hafeez had been killed and his body was lying in his office.
Shakeel said a case had been registered against the caller on the complaint of victim’s brother Mahmood. He said the circumstances surrounding the death were being investigated.
