Rawalpindi: Criminals strike at 7 places in a day
Rawalpindi: Street criminals took away gold ornaments, cash and vehicles in seven hits in different localities on Tuesday, police said.
Four gunmen intercepted a car rider Qazi Zahir-ud-Din Babar when he was heading towards his house in Officers Colony in Wah Cantonment and snatched Rs120,000 and mobile phone cards worth Rs30,000 and drove away in his car after holding him at gunpoint.
At Chohar Chowk, two men held a pedestrian at gunpoint and fled away after snatching Rs21,400 from him in broad daylight.
Five vehicles were stolen from various localities of the city, police said. A Suzuki Khyber car (LXB-3436) was lifted from Harley Street. A Suzuki Alto car bearing registration number ADL-8617 was stolen from the premises of district courts. A bike (HN-606-ICT) was lifted from the parking lot of the Benazir Bhutto Hospital. A Suzuki Margalla car (Z-9680) was stolen from Banni and a Suzuki Khyber car (IDG-5832) was lifted from Liaquat Road.
