Rawalpindi: Kidnappers remanded
RAWALPINDI: Police Tuesday claimed to have apprehended three members of a gang who are allegedly involved in killing of a man after abducting him for ransom.
Police also produced the arrested persons in a court and obtained four days physical remand for further interrogation. According to police, the three culprits kidnapped one Rafaqat Bhatti some two months ago from the limits of Police Post Ranyal and after demanded Rs 200,000 as ransom from his family for safe release of the victim.
Police, on the complaints of heirs, registered a case and had launched investigation in the matter. A police team under the supervision of Sub Inspector (SI) Raja Hammad was also formed which traced the criminals through mobile date and captured them from district Kasoor.
Police disclosed that the culprits during investigation revealed that they had kidnapped Rafaqt to obtain money but later killed him and buried his dead body near Karral Chowk on Islamabad Express Way. On their disclosure, police recovered the dead body from Karral Chowk and shifted it to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital for autopsy.
