Islamabad: 17 outlaws, including Afghans, arrested
ISLAMABAD: Police on Wednesday nabbed 17 outlaws including members of Afghan gang from various areas of the city and recovered two-kilogram of hashish, eight pistols, 28 liquor bottles, one carbine, heroin, electronic equipment and mobile phones from their possession, a spokesman for police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Yousuf Malik assigned the task to Crime Investigation Agency In-Charge Bashir Ahmed Noon to ensure arrest of dacoits. A special team headed by Noon including Sub–Inspector Muhammad Tehseen, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Tariq Rauf and others started efforts to arrest culprits and succeeded to bust Afghan gang from Dharek Mohri in Golra. The nabbed persons were identified as Awal Khan, Ajab Khan, Muhammad Hussain and three pistols along with ammunition, three mobile phones and electronic equipments were recovered from them.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to be involved in various dacoities. It has been revealed that accused Awal Khan has already criminal record. ASI Nasir Manzoor of Aabpara police nabbed Sajid Masih for having 28 liquor bottles while ASI Imran Haider of Margallah police arrested Mehr Khan in possession of 30-bore pistol.
