Karachi: Tortured body of Punjab policeman recovered
Karachi: The body of a Punjab policeman, bearing torture marks, was found in the bushes of the National Highway on Wednesday.
32-year-old Shams-ul-Haq was found in the bushes near Radio Pakistan in the Shah Latif Town police limits. A passerby came across his body and informed the police, who reached the spot in a mobile van and shifted the victim’s body to the JPMC for legal formalities.
According to the police, the deceased was a cop in the Punjab Police and came to visit relatives in the city. They added that unidentified people kidnapped the victim and after killing him at an unknown location, dumped his body in their police jurisdiction. The police also said that the deceased belongs from Sargodha.
Meanwhile, the bullet-riddled body of a man was found on the premises of the Railway School near Kala Pul in the Frere police limits on Wednesday. The watchman of the school saw the body of the 30-year-old unidentified man and informed police. A police mobile van took the corpse to the JPMC for legal formalities.
According to the police, unidentified people kidnapped the man and, after killing him, they dumped his body in the school. In a separate incident, a 35-year-old man was knocked dead by a hit-and-run vehicle near Baqai Medical College on the Super Highway in the Gadap police limits. He met with the accident while he was riding his motorcycle.
