Lashkar elder among four killed in Tank incidents
TANK: Four persons, including the elder of a local peace committee, were killed during the last 24 hours in the district, police and hospital sources said on Monday. Unidentified armed motorcyclists gunned down a pro-government elder in Sheikh Uttar village, located about 14 kilometres from Tank.
According to the first information report lodged with the Gomal Bazaar police station by the deceased’s son Muhammad Imran, he along with his father Ghulam Ayaz and a friend Adab Khan were having tea at a local restaurant when the gunmen arrived and fired shots, killing his father on the spot.
Adab Khan also sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
The killers fled the scene and the police registered the case. In another firing incident, some unknown road robbers shot dead a taxi driver on the Tank-Bannu Road. An FIR lodged at the Mulazai Police Station by one Imranullah said that his brother Mishqatullah, a cab driver, was returning home when some unknown robbers intercepted him near Daraki.
He panicked and tried to speed away but the gunmen shot and injured him. He died on the way to hospital, Imranullah added. The Mulazai Police Station registered the case. Meanwhile, two teenaged students were killed in a road accident. Police and hospital sources said Jamal and Rahimullah sustained severe injuries when their motorbike skidded off the road amid rain while on their way home after watching a football match. They were shifted to a local hospital where Jamal died. Rahimullah also succumbed to injuries while being shifted to Peshawar for treatment.
