Karachi: 2 suspects flee court premises
Karachi: Two suspects escaped from the court premises after a judge rejected their applications for bail before arrest in a felony case on Tuesday.
Three friends — Noman Khan, Ovais Khan and Farman Khan — appeared in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) Abdul Razzak for the confirmation of their bail before arrest in a case of causing injuries to their two friends — Saquib Zeeshan and Abdul Wahid — in the Defence View area.
The judge rejected the bail of Noman Khan and Ovais Khan, while the third suspect Farman Khan was granted bail. As soon as the judge announced the order, both Noman and Ovais managed to slip through the rush of the people from the court premises despite the presence of law enforcers there.
According to the prosecution, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on their two friends, Saquib and Abdul Wahid, after an altercation on October 10 in the Defence View area within the Baloch Colony police limits, critically injuring them. Farman Khan was their accomplice but as he did not open fire he was released on bail.
The case was lodged on the complaint of Saquib Zeeshan. Meanwhile, the same court rejected the bail of Rubina alias Ruby in a robbery case, and remanded her back to the Women Police Station.
Rubina, who worked as a maid at the bungalow of Dr Imtiaz Shah in the Clifton area, was booked for allegedly decamping with valuables, gold ornaments and cash on June 24.
