Karachi: ‘Target killer’ among seven held
Karachi: Malir City police arrested four suspects, including a target killer, after a brief encounter, while Darakhshan police arrested three suspected bandits on Wednesday.
According to SP Gadap Muhammad Altaf Sarwar Malik, during snap checking near Ghazi Town a police team spotted four suspicious people riding two motorcycles and signalled them to stop. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire and as a result an encounter ensued.
Following the shootout, the police nabbed all the suspects and recovered four TT pistols, one kilogram of charas and two stolen motorcycles from their possession.
They were identified as Zubair, Ghulam Mustufa, Naeem and Shah Nawaz. Zubair confessed that he had killed more than five people, including Constable Ayub, in the Malir area. Ghulam Mustufa, Naeem and Shah Nawaz revealed that they had snatched or stolen at least 140 motorcycles from various parts of the city and sold them in the interior of Sindh and Balochistan.
Meanwhile, the Darakhshan police arrested three suspected bandits after a brief encounter and recovered three TT pistols, a snatched motorcycle and looted valuables from their possession.
The three armed men barged into a bungalow in Khayaban-e-Rahat. The watchman of the adjoining bungalow saw the incident and informed the police. A police mobile reached the spot when the bandits were about to flee. Upon seeing the police, the suspected bandits opened fire, but the police managed to arrest all of them.
The police also recovered looted valuables, three TT pistols and snatched motorcycle from their possession. During initial interrogation, the suspects, identified as Shah Mir, Khadim Hussain and Zahid, confessed to have looted several houses in Clifton, Defence and Gizri areas.
