Karachi: 3 target killing suspects remanded
Karachi: Three suspects reportedly belonging to a religious and political party were remanded in police custody till October 31 pertaining to their alleged involvement in several target killing cases and possessing of weapons illegally.
Mohammad Aslam, Nasir Qadri and Zain-ul-Abideen alias Zanu were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Afzal Roshan on Wednesday.
All the three were remanded in CID custody. According to the prosecution they had been involved in cases of targeted killings of more than a dozen people in the New Karachi Industrial Area in 2007.
The same court also remanded the Swat commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban, Akber Rasheed alias Javed, in CID custody till Saturday. He was arrested by CID police in Peerabad, and police had also recovered a TT pistol from his possession.
Another suspect, Mohammad Abdul Ghaffar, reportedly belonging to a political party and allegedly involved in target killing cases, was also remanded in CID custody.
Nauroze, a suspect allegedly belonging to the Lyari gang war, was produced in the court of the Judicial Magistrate (South), Hatim Aziz Solangi, in a case pertaining to recovery of 1,500 kilogram of charas from his possession.
