Islamabad: 14 outlaws arrested
ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Thursday arrested 14 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered narcotics, liquor, weapons and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said. He said the Aabpara police arrested a bootlegger from G-7/3 and recovered 100 bottles of wine from him.
Likewise, the Bhara Kahu police recovered 10 bottles of wine from a bootlegger which led to his arrest. Similarly, the Sabzi Mandi police on suspicion intercepted a man and during search recovered a 30-bore pistol from him.
Meanwhile, the Tarnol police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted two women and recovered hashish and opium weighing eight and three kilograms respectively from them.
The Golra police arrested three persons, including a woman for their alleged involvement in robbery and carrying illegal weapons. Two 30–bore pistols were also recovered from them.
The Shahzad Town police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in theft and recovered valuables worth Rs150,000 from him. The police also arrested two persons and recovered weapons from them. Three female beggars were apprehended by Women Police under Beggar Act.
Separate cases were registered against the arrestees under relevant charges with police station concerned and investigations were in progress.
IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Mohammad Yousuf Malik appreciated the police officials performance and directed them to intensify vigilance against anti-social elements.
