Lahore: Saddar AVLS arrests 2 culprits; recovers 15 vehicles worth Rs 11m
LAHORE: The Saddar Division Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS) arrested two culprits belonging to a car lifting gang and recovered 15 vehicles worth Rs 11.1 million from their possesion on Friday.
As per details, on the directions of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir, DIG (Investigation) Ali Amir Malik and SSP (Investigation) Abdul Razaq Cheema directed CRO SSP Sajjad Hussain Manj to take effective measure against the criminals involved in car lifting.
Hussain Manj then constituted a special team under the supervision of AVLS DSP Saleem Mukhtar Butt, comprising Sub-Inspector Badar Munir and other police officials. After untiring efforts and continuous investigation, the police team was able to collect particulars of the Abdul Gaffar alias Gaffari gang, consequently arresting two of its members, including the ringleader. The areas in which these criminals had committed crime included Shahdara Town, Sabzazar, Defence, South Cantt, Model Town, Sattokatla, Ghalib Market, Johar Town, North Cantt, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Kotlakhpt, Islampura, Lohari Gate, Naseerabad and Township.
Police recovered 15 cars worth Rs 11.1 million from their possession, whereas 25 cases were traced against them. The arrested were identified as Abdul Gaffar alias Gaffari and Sajjad Haider.
Separately, Raza Tahir announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team. Other members of the police team included Head Constable Muhammad Irshad, Muhammad Afzal, Sarang Khan, Constable Zahid Hussain, Ghulam Jellani and Tariq Mehmood.
