Man kidnapped from Sukkur
SUKKUR: A man going to Shikarpur has been kidnapped. He had left his house in the Hussaini Road area on Friday but did not reach Shikarpur.
Elatives tried to contact Maqbool Ahmed Bhutto but his cellphone was powered off, Maqbool’s brother Qalandar Bux Bhutto said.
He said that a person called him on Sunday and told him that Maqbool was in their custody. They demanded Rs1.5 million for his release, he said.
Meanwhile, activists of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party took out a procession and demonstrated in Thull town on Sunday in protest against police failure to recover daily-wage earners Mansab Ali Dool and Atta Mohammad Dool who had been kidnapped 24 days ago.
Local STPP leader Abdul Ghafoor Buriro told journalists that Mansab and Atta worked as labourers on a tractor–trolley. They went with to Sultankot 24 days ago and did not return. Later, their families were informed that they had been kidnapped.
He said the kidnappers were demanding Rs2 million ransom for their release but their relatives were poor and could not arrange such a huge amount of money.
