Rawalpindi: ATC to frame charges against accused on Nov 5
Rawalpindi: Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) Judge Shahid Rafiq on Saturday fixed the date of November 5 to frame charges against accused allegedly involved in Benazir Bhutto assassination case.
Accused Sher Zaman, Aitzaz Shah, Hasnain Gull, Rafaqat Hussain and former City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz were present in Adiala Jail during hearing of the Benazir Bhutto assassination case. They were waiting for framing charges by the court, but former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad was absent. Former City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad are on bail but other accused are in Adiala Jail.
Meanwhile, the ATC adjourned hearing in Mumbai attack case without any further proceeding till November 5, 2011. The concerned lawyers contesting Mumbai attack case from the accused side filed a no–confidence petition against the ATC judge. The petition is pending with the High Court as a result the ATC judge adjourned hearing till November 5, 2011.
The court also adjourned further hearing against Maulana Abdul Aziz, Khateeb of Lal Masjid, till November 14, 2011. Maulana Abdul Aziz has to appear in the court in ranger’s murder case. It adjourned hearing of land fraud case against PML–N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan till November 18, 2011.
