Islamabad: Man accused of beheading friend held in capital
Islamabad: Resolving a blind murder mystery, the Margalla Police Station personnel arrested a man who was allegedly involved in beheading his friend, the police spokesman said on Monday.
The accused allegedly stuffed remains of his friend in a gunny bag and dumped it in the greenbelt of Sector G-9/1, which police found on October 11. An FIR (Number 571) under Section 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was then registered and the remains of the victim were shifted to the hospital. Later, the victim was identified as Muhammad Rafique, son of Taj Din of Bhandi Wala, Tehsil Chakothi, District Hattain Bala, AJK. Rafique was a worker of a hotel in Blue Area.
A police team, using all available resources, started investigation and finally managed to arrest the alleged killer identified as Shabbir, son of Muhammad Sharif. The arrested man confessed that he, along with his colleagues, was involved in beheading Rafique due to a conflict with him. Further investigation is underway and teams have been sent to arrest the absconding men.
