Karachi: ‘Target killer’, five vehicle lifters held
Karachi: Shah Lateef Town police on Monday arrested an alleged target killer associated with the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, who is said to be involved in the killing of at least 12 people. The police recovered a .222 rifle, a TT pistol and a motorcycle from his possession.
During snap checking near Nargis Cinema in Quaidabad, a police party spotted a suspicious motorcycle rider and gave him a signal to stop. However, the suspect tried to race away the vehicle, following which the police chased him and apprehended him.
During the initial interrogation, the suspect identified as Maqbool Ahmed alias Maqboola revealed that he along with his accomplices killed 10 people and injured 17 others in Khokhrapar and Malir City police areas on July 22 this year.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch-I arrested Zia-ul-Haq, Eshan Mahmood, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Umar and Siddique-ul-Hasan in the Jackson police limits for their alleged involvement in vehicle lifting and snatching cases. Police claimed to have recovered one Land Cruiser, one Pajero jeep and seven cars from them.
