Peshawar: 4 car-lifters held, 11 vehicles recovered
PESHAWAR: The capital city police claimed to have arrested four car-lifters and recovered 11 vehicles from their hideouts, said senior superintendent of police (SSP) Operations, Peshawar on Monday.
Those who were arrested included Shah Saud, Zubair and Gohar Ali from the jurisdiction of Bhanamari and one Amir from the area of C-Division Police Station. “Four vehicles were recovered from Amir while seven from the rest of the three accused,” said SSP (Operations) Tahir Ayub. The two rings were operating all over the country and wanted to police in many cases.
While talking about the terrorism, the SSP claimed that situation had improved due to the efforts of police. While talking about the corruption of police force on Ring Road and other areas, the deputy city police chief said that it was being investigated and action would be taken against all those involved.
There are reports that police cops all over the city, especially on the Ring Road, are hand in gloves with smugglers and illegal container terminals and earning millions of rupees every month. “We are investigating and will take action in this regard,” said the SSP.
