Peshawar: Murder accused bail plea dismissed
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Monday dismissed bail-petition of a man charged with the killing of his wife and pretending it as a suicide committed by her.
A single bench comprising Justice Malik Azmatullah observed that the accused, Marekhul Taj, did not deserve to be set free on bail.
The deceased woman, Salma, was killed on Aug 1, 2011, in the limits of Pahari Pura police station. The petitioner went to the police station and claimed that his wife had committed suicide by firing at herself with a gun. He claimed that she was having strained relations with him owing to which she committed suicide.
However, the postmortem report revealed that the deceased had received three bullets and was also tortured. Following receiving opinion from the district public prosecutor, police arrested the petitioner.
