Ellah Abad: Robbers on the loose
ELLAH ABAD: Bandits took away two motorbikes, cash and sacrificial animals in four successful strikes here in and around the city the other day.
As per detail, Muhammad Iqbal, son of Liaqit Ali Baloch, a resident of Bhagiwall Tibba and his brother were coming from somewhere on a brand-new motorcycle.
When they reached near Baqapur, some 7km away from Ellah Abad, nine armed dacoits stopped them and snatched the motorcycle and Rs24,000 from him.
Meanwhile, at least 10 dacoits, equipped with automatic weapons, barged into the house of Muhammad Tayyab, son of Muhammad Ismail, a resident of Baqapur. The culprits held the family members hostage and tied them with a rope. The culprits made off with four sacrificial goats worth Rs100,000.
Moreover, an unidentified thief stole the motorbike of one Muhammad Imran, son of Muhammad Yousaf, a resident of Ellah Abad. He said that he parked his motorbike, Honda-70 LEL-2467 in front of Wapda complain office. However, upon return found the motorcycle missing.
Meanwhile, unidentified thieves stole a buffalo from Village Behari Pur. The owner Muhammad Ali, son of Baqir Ali, is a poor and orphan child. Professionally he is a potter and the buffalo was his source of income.
It is to be noted that despite hectic efforts by the Ellah Abad Police and increasing patrolling, the crime in the area has been on the rise. Some people have attributed the surge in crime apparently to Eidul Azha
