Karachi: 2 killed in different incidents

KARACHI: Two people were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday. A man was shot dead on Ahmed Ali Shah Bukhari Road, Lyari within the limits of Baghdadi police station. According to sources, Jumma, 35, son of Rasool Bux was standing near Lyari General Hospital when some unidentified armed men opened firing at him; resultantly he received bullet injuries.



Area people shifted the injured to Lyari General Hospital. After giving first aid, doctors referred him to Civil Hospital Karachi, however, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. SHO Raja Fayyaz said the victim was the resident of Ali Mohammad Mohalla. He dealt in scrap business in same area where he resided. The officer reported that eyewitness said they did not see anyone opening fire at him, however, police speculated it to be the incident of Lyari war. Later, police handed the body over to the family. No case could be registered till filing the report. In another incident, a youth was found dead near Faqira Goth, Super Highway within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. Victim’s body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where he was identified as Ehsan Ali Abro. Police officials said that the deceased hailed from Jacobabad and lived at the flood victims’ camp at Super Highway. According to SHO Wahid Buksh, the victim was shot at least six times and apparently it seemed that the culprits dumped his body at the abandoned place after killing him at another place as no evidence could be found from the crime scene. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy. Police said victim’s younger brother Mushtaq received his body. However, case could not be registered till filing of this report.
