Karachi: 7 Rangers men held for links with robbers
Karachi: Seven Rangers personnel were taken into custody for allegedly having connections with the car lifters’ mafia on Thursday.
They were arrested after two motorcycle lifters, held from Al-Asif Square on the Super Highway, told police interrogators about the involvement of the law enforcers in the crime.
The two lifters were arrested by the ACLC on Thursday, according to Superintendent Police (SP) ACLC Operation Javed Akbar Riaz. He said that 25 motorcycles were recovered.
The suspects, Nadeem and Basheer, admitted that they had stolen over 800 motorcycles over the last three years. During the interrogation, the suspects disclosed that seven Rangers officials were also involved in their criminal activities, saying that these officials sold the lifted motorcycles in Balochistan and Punjab for about Rs15,000 each.
