Sargodha: SHO among 3 cops arrested
SARGODHA: A Station House Officer (SHO) of the Khushab Police Station and two other police officials were arrested on the orders of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha Region Rao Sardar Ali on Friday.
As per detail, Muhammad Mubashir, son of Sher Muhammad, a resident of 160/MB District Khushab visited a hospital in his applied for registration car for medication.
Later, when he came out from the hospital he found that Khushab Police SHO Khalid Iqbal impounded his car and later locked up the vehicle in the police station. Meanwhile, the registration number LED-11-7192 was allotted by the relevant authority for the owner of the car.
When Muhammad Mubashir approached the Police Station to acquire his vehicle with legal procedure the police hesitated to do so and put him in illegal custody for six hours. Later, Muhammad Mubashir approached the Regional Police Officer to seek justice.
The RPO summoned SHO Khalid Iqbal and other police officials including Sajid Bilal and Ghulam Jelani along with relevant record.
During the probe it was found that the record was tampered with deliberately. Upon which the RPO ordered suspension and arrest of the SHO and his two accomplices. The police put them behind the bar at Khushab Police Station. Further investigation is in progress.
Firing in jubilation claims life: Another youth was killed as he suffered a bullet fired in jubilation in a wedding ceremony while two persons have already been killed in such incidents during the current week.
Muhammad Imtiaz, a resident of Chak 55/SB, was invited in the Henna ceremony of groom Khurram Shahzad of the same village.
According to the police sources, Tayyab Kamal, Imran and Ali, the grooms friends or relatives, fired in the air with pump action in jubilation within Atta Shaheed police precincts. Imtiaz caught in the firing and died on the spot.
The police arrested the accused along with the weapon and shifted the dead body to DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
On the report of deceased’s brother, Ghulam Abbas, a case has been registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
