ATTOCK: A police constable’s attempt to loot the salary of a private school staff at gunpoint was frustrated by the security guard and the other workers, it has been learnt.
Police sources said Constable Chaudhry Ehsan went to the school on Saturday to meet the principal. As soon as he entered the office, he held the principal hostage at gunpoint and snatched the staff salary amounting to Rs110,500 and tried to escape from the scene.
However, the principal raised alarm and the school security guard with the help of other staff overpowered the constable.
They recovered pistol and looted amount from the constable. Later, he was handed over to the city police station and a robbery case registered against him.
On contact, city police confirmed that an FIR had been registered against Constable Chaudhry Ehsan on the complaint of school Principal Saleem Shehzad.
