Lahore: Man flees from court premises as cops look on
LAHORE: Dozens of police personnel and security officials of LHC remained silent spectators when an accused in murder case escaped on Tuesday from the custody of police after knowing that his bail application has been dismissed.
Atif had approached the LHC for his bail in a murder case registered against him at Sahiyanwala police station situated in district Faisalabad on March 24, 2010. Atif had killed the Mohammad Asif, resident of the area, over a trifle. Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh announced his order on the bail petition. After the court order, the concerned police officer arrested the accused but he escaped from police custody when the officer was busy in eating roasted chickpeas.
