Rawalpindi: Bid to smuggle liquor into jail
RAWALPINDI: Two persons, who tried to smuggle liquor filled in water bottles into Adiala Jail, were arrested on Wednesday by the security guards posted at the prison gate.
The three bottles of liquor filled in large-sized water bottles were spotted by the jail guards during the checking of food items brought by the visitors for their relatives serving the jail terms.
Mohammad Akram and Wajid Ali, residents of Sohawa brought some food items along with three water bottles filled with liquor for their relative Mohammad Nawaz who had been serving jail term in a drug smuggling case.
However, their bid to smuggle liquor into the jail was frustrated by the security staff.
Both the accused, Mohammad Akram and Wajid Ali were handed over to the Sadar Barooni police which registered a case against them.
