Karachi: Chaudhry Aslam’s gunman shot dead

Karachi: An officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Sindh was gunned down by armed men in Aziz Bhatti. Police said that deceased Head Constable Sanaullah Niazi was part of the CID Sindh and had been deputed as SSP Mohammed Aslam Khan’s gunman.

They added that after completing his day’s duty, Sanaullah was returning in a van and when he neared his residence in the Aziz Bhatti police Limits, armed motorcyclists opened fire at him. The policeman was injured in the shooting, while the suspects fled the scene of the crime.

The head constable was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The victim suffered a single bullet wound to the heart. Investigators termed HC Sanaullah’s murder as a targeted killing.

Sanaullah hailed from Mianwali and had already sent his wife and children back to his hometown due of threats. He is survived by a widow and three children, including two daughters and a son. Further investigations are under way.
