Islamabad: 4 stolen vehicles recovered
Islamabad: The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) have recovered four stolen vehicles and arrested four car-lifters as well as recovered a young man who was kidnapped from Hyderabad.
In the first incident, a bus driver of Niazi Express informed the NH&MP officers on M-2 about a white Toyota Corolla car (IDN-3466) parked in the service area of Chakri. The man, who was coming towards the car, tried to run away after he saw the NH&MP men, but they managed to arrest him. He was identified as Nasim, son Ali Muhammad, resident of Gujranwala. During investigation, he confessed to snatching the car from the driver after tying him with rope.
In the second incident, the NH&MP official stopped a car, bearing registration number AHU-714, with three persons on board on GT Road toll plaza in Khanewal. The driver of the car escaped from the scene, but two others namely Sharafat Ali and Muhammad Asif, residents of Sahiwal, were arrested. On search of the car, a kidnapped man namely Muhammad Javed hailing from Hyderabad was found. He disclosed to the officials that they had kidnapped him and his son Zeeshan Ahmed from the truck stand in Hyderabad. On further search of the vehicle, one 30-bore pistol, two carbines, a huge quantity of live rounds, two daggers and one syringe, four mobile phones and cash were recovered from the culprits.
In the third incident, NH&MP officials in Sheikhupura (M-2) spotted a white Suzuki van (LEB-8825) parked on hard shoulder. The driver upon seeing the officials tried to run away, however he was arrested. The culprit namely Ali Ejaz, son of Muhammad Younas belonging to Okara, confessed that he had stolen the van from Lahore.
In the fourth incident, the NH&MP men, when informed by the Rawalpindi Police that a Panther Hiace Van (LED-2462) has been stolen from the jurisdiction of the Cantonment Police Station, saw the vehicle in the area of Lakhori on M-1. When they signalled its driver to stop the van, the culprits left the van and fled away from the scene. Motorway police officers impounded the vehicle.
