Karachi: 2 terror suspects held, hit list recovered
Karachi: The personnel of Crime Branch (West) held two alleged terrorists belonging to the Lashker-e-Jhangvi (LJ) for their suspected involvement in a number of sectarian killings, including the killing of doctors, and recovered arms and a hit list from their possession.
According to SSP Khurram Waris of Crime Branch West, acting on a tip off, a police party raided a hideout in Orangi Town. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire and an encounter ensued following which one Faizullah alias Aftab and Wali Khan were arrested and a Kalashnikov, two pistols, hundreds of rounds and a hit-list were also recovered from their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects disclosed that they were affiliated with LJ and worked for Qari Hussain group. They revealed that they were trained by Qari Hussain in Waziristan about how to operate Kalashnikovs, rocket launchers and hand grenades. They were also trained how to target people and how to collect and develop information regarding the person on target. They disclosed that were sent back to Karachi to target the people of Shia sect. They confessed to having targeted Ghulam Mohammed Akhundzada and Dr Najamul Hasan.
