Lahore: Woman acquitted in husband’s murder case
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Tariq Mehmood Zargham on Thursday acquitted a woman, accused of killing her husband and other accused in the case by giving them the benefit of the doubt.
According to the FIR registered with the Burki police station, the brother of deceased Tufail accused Muhammad Ashraf, Ashraf Iqbal and Zaiba under sections 109, 34 and 302 of Pakistan Penal Code. He stated that Ziaba was the wife of his brother Tufail and she had illicit relations with Muhammad Ashraf. He said Ashraf and Zaiba were caught red handed. After that Ziaba along with Ashraf and Ashraf Iqbal killed Tufail. On Thursday, after hearing detailed arguments of both sides, the judge released aforementioned accused giving them the benefit of the doubt as the prosecution failed to prove charges levelled against them.
