Peshawar: Woman seeks recovery of son
PESHAWAR: A mother has appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the judiciary to recover her son kidnapped more than three years ago.
Narrating her ordeal, Khatoon, belonging to Kunar province of Afghanistan and presently living Bhana Marhi area of Peshawar, said her son Khalilullah and grandson Ateeq had been kidnapped three years back.
She said the police later arrested both the kidnappers and recovered her grandson Ateeq from their captivity. “I was called from the office of [the then CCPO] Sifwat Ghayyur and when I went there, I met my grandson.”
However, she has been still moving from pillar to post for the recovery of her son. After arrest of the kidnappers, the case was being heard in the Peshawar High Court, when a jirga met Khatoon and assured of recovering her son, provided she withdrew the case.
“But when the case was withdrawn from the PHC and transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Court, the jirga disappeared and the case was again opened for hearing,” she deplored.
The distressed woman demanded the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of the case, order arrest of the kidnappers and recovery of her son.
