Lahore: Robbers deprive citizens of Rs 14 million
LAHORE: The thieves entered the house of electrical engineer Naseem Rathore, paternal uncle of former capital city police officer Pervez Rathore, in A-Block, looted Rs300,000 in cash, 250-tola gold ornaments, defence saving certificates worth Rs5 million, cell phones and other valuables and fled.
Mr Naseem, who owns a consultancy firm, informed the police that he and his family members reached home after attending a funeral to find the theft as things were scattered all around.
Investigators lifted finger prints and other evidence from the crime scene. Initial investigation showed that the thieves had entered the house from a portion of the kitchen.
In another incident, unidentified people broke open the cloth shop of Kabir Husain Shah in Chuhng police precincts and made off with cloth and cash worth Rs3.3 million.
