Lahore: 2 ‘millionaire’ lovers caught
LAHORE: Two paramours, who turned motorcycles-lifters posing themselves as millionaires just to influences their beloved, were arrested by the Racecourse police on Tuesday.
The gang comprising two members namely Muhammad Bilal, son of Tariq Mehmood and Muhammad Usama, son of Maqbool Ahmed, has robbed more than 15 motorbikes from different police precincts during the last 15 months.
Muhammad Bilal, Hafiz-e-Quran, and his friend Usama fell in love with two different girls including a housemaid of Usama some two years back. “Both the accused belonged to poor families.
They could not fulfill the demands of their beloved so they, by mutual consultation, started robbing motorbikes from parking lots of public hospitals and snooker clubs,” Racecourse in-Charge Investigation Inspector Muhammad Munawar Hanjera said.
He said that the accused used to visit their beloveds while riding on new motorbikes in order to appease and influence them.
“Besides robbing motorbikes, the accused also used various cogent tactics to boast them up in front of the females,” said Munawar Hanjra, adding before indulging themselves in lusty desires both the accused had good reputation in their areas.
“Even, Bilal used to led collective prayers inside the Jail when once he was rounded up by the law enforcement agencies, but after his release he again indulged in the same nature of crime,” he added.
However, in connection with several cases lodged with different police stations, the Racecourse police ‘hunted down’ the robbers on Monday and traced around 15 cases of same nature. “Yes, we have recovered five motorbikes from their possession,” he stated.
The City’s operations police spokesman Mr Nayyab Haider Naqvi said the gang comprising the ringleader Khadim Hussain alias Bota, Ramzan alias Jani, Javed alias Sunni and Mazhar Saleem was operating for the last several months.
