Lahore: Auto-lifting incidents decrease
LAHORE: CCPO Ahmed Raza Tahir on Tuesday claimed that the incidents of auto-lifting have decreased substantially in the provincial metropolis as a massive crackdown is underway against the gangsters involved in such crimes.
“The police have smashed eight gangs of auto-lifters by arresting their 15 members during the last one month (October).
The police have also recovered at least 212 stolen vehicles (cars and motorcycles) from their possession,” City Police Chief told reporters while addressing a nws ceonference here at Investigations Headquarters Qila Gujjar Singh on Tuesday.
He also said that the police had also arrested 44 gangsters involved in auto-lifting incidents out of which 24 were proclaimed offenders.
