Lahore: Dacoits, carjackers strike City more than 25 times
LAHORE: Dacoits and carjackers struck the provincial capital more than 25 times and made off with cash, gold ornaments, foreign currency, cars, motorbikes and other valuables worth over million of rupees on Tuesday.
The victims, mostly belonging to poor families, were seen crying, beating their chests and weeping over their losses, which the robbers and dacoits snatched and stolen away, by making the families hostage on gunpoint.
The most important heartbreaking aspect, which most of the victims expressed was their complete mistrust in police department. Fulminating to the police department, they said police department has become a tool with the hands of hardened criminals.
According to the details, two masked dacoits equipped with automatic weapons stormed into a shop (No-10) situated in Saleem Plaza in Liaqatabad police area.
“They held me hostage on gunpoint and fled after collecting 18 cellular phones, 10 memory cards, cash worth over Rs 25, 000 and other valuables,” the victim told reporters. Similarly, robbers barged their entry into a Miraj Din building owned by Naveed and located in Street No-108, in Islampura.
Police sources and family circles say the dacoits looted the home successfully and escaped after collecting spree worth over Rs 250, 000.
Dacoits also struck into a general store of Haji Muhammad Iqbal in Ravi Road area and collected cash and other valuables wroth over Rs 100, 000 whereas the dacoits stormed into a plastic factory owned by Muhammad Saleem near Ahmed Park, Lower Mall, and escaped after collecting cash, mobiles worth over Rs 240, 000.
A similar episode of dacoity was repeated by several dacoits in Manga Mandi where the accused looted a home of Faraz at Chah Saydaywala and fled after collecting spree worth over Rs 400, 000.
Moreover, one Kaleem Ullah’s office was also looted where dacoits collected furniture and other valuables worth over Rs 200, 000. A shop of one Sajid Shafi located at Al-Noor, Ichra, was robbed where around Rs 900, 00 went missing.
Similarly, two mobile phones and Rs 4000 of Nadeem in Ravi Road, two mobile phones and Rs 70000 of Riaz in Green Town, four buffaloes of Sakhawat in Hanjerwal, two cell phones and Rs 29000 of Masood Riaz in Iqbal Town, Rs 100, 000 of Shafiq Ahmed in Mustafa Town, a cellular phone and Rs 23000 of Kashif Ali in Green Town, cash and a motorbike (LEX-3014) from Kashif in Green Town, cash and motorbike (LEN-1612) from Muhammad Aamir Tufail in Sabzazaar, Rs 100, 000 from Manzoor Ahmed and his family in Barki, Rs 210, 000 from a home of Amjad Masih from Shahdara, Rs 160, 000, a pistol, and other valuables from a home of Muhammad Aman Ahmed Rao from DHA, electric wires worth over Rs 300, 000 from a tube well in Harbanspura, and pluses and other edibles worth over Rs 235, 000 from a shop owned by Imtiaz were looted on the same day.
