Rawalpindi: ATC rejects plea of accused in Benazir murder case
Rawalpindi: Anti-Terrorist Court-I (ATC-I) Judge Shahid Rafique on Tuesday rejected the applications of Rashid Ahmed and Sher Zaman, who are allegedly involved in the Benazir Bhutto killing case.
The accused had taken the plea that the court did not frame charges against them on merit. The accused, through their lawyers, raised several objections to the charges framed against them, but the court rejected their plea and ordered the police to present more witnesses on December 3, 2011.
Meanwhile, the ATC has fixed the date of December 2 for framing charges against those allegedly involved in possessing explosive material.
The Shahzad Town Police Station had registered a case under Sections 3/4 Explosive Act (EA) and 7 ATA against Mohsin Ali and others for possessing explosive material and arrested them from Chattha Bakhtawar in 2011.
