RAWALPINDI: A Pakistani convicted prisoner who was sentenced to life in prison in Thailand was extradited from Bangkok to Islamabad to serve his remaining sentence in Adiala jail on Wednesday, official sources said.

Masood Arif Anjum, who belonged to Sahiwal, was captured by the law enforcement agencies in Thailand for his involvement in a drug trafficking case and later was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Pakistani authorities had asked the Thai government to extradite him. In line with Pakistan’s request, Masood Arif Anjum was extradited to Islamabad from Bangkok on PIA’s flight PK-893.
