Karachi: Octogenarian caught stealing bike from KU campus
KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) security staff claimed catching an octogenarian red-handed while he was stealing a motorcycle from the campus.
According to a KU spokesman, the 80-year-old suspect, Mithan Khan Abro, had been arrested several times in the past too on the charge of stealing motorcycles.
Abro was alleged to be a member of an inter-provincial gang of criminals.
The spokesman said the suspect had been under the observation of the campus vigilance staff for four days, and his arrest was made possible when he was intercepted by the KU vigilance staff after he stole a motorcycle from the parking lot in front of Faculty of Arts.
Abro was handed over to the Rangers. During the preliminary interrogation, he admitted that he was used to stealing new motorcycles and afterwards selling them in Balochistan for a few thousand of rupees.
He also reportedly confessed to stealing several dozens motorcycles.
