LAHORE: A former security guard of Zulfiqar Mirza, ex-Sindh home minister, lost his life while resolving a dispute between his two relatives in the Factory Area police jurisdiction on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Hakim Ali, 35, hailed from Sindh. According to police, he served as a security guard about 10 years back in Karachi. About eight years back, he moved to Lahore and was running a grocery shop in the Ravi Road area. His uncle had a dispute with his brother-in-law Nadeem over an unknown reason. On Sunday, his uncle again quarreled with his brother-in-law and Hakim tried to resolve the issue.
Meanwhile, Nadeem attacked the victim’s uncle with a knife. Hakim sustained fatal stab wounds while making an attempt to save life of his uncle. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a case against the accused person on the complaint of the victim’s brother Shahab.
