Karachi: Man kills neighbour over parking dispute
KARACHI: A dispute over a man’s questionable parking resulted in the death of one person and injuries to three others in Block- I of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Forty-five-year-old Chaudhry Mohammad Ikram was shot dead, while his wife and two sons suffered bullet injuries when their neighbour opened fire on them outside A-169 in Block-I of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Investigations revealed that the victim resided in the aforementioned house and was outside when his neighbour Syed Ahsan Ali Warsi arrived. Warsi was irritated by the fact that Ikram had parked his car closer his house instead of his own. Warsi also asked Ikram why he would continuously stand on the balcony of his house.
The simple dispute turned ugly when Warsi rushed into his house A-182 which was just opposite the victim’s residence. He collected his pistol and then returned to open indiscriminate fire on Ikram and his family.
After inflicting injuries to Chaudhry Ikram, his wife and two sons, the assailant tried to flee the scene of the crime, but was apprehended by a mobile unit of the Gulshan police. The suspect was taken into custody and the weapon used in the offence was also recovered from his possession.
The injured, meanwhile, were rushed to hospital, where Ikram died during treatment. Police said that the accused was a jobless man and the weapon used in the crime was illegal as Warsi failed to produce a licence. A case was registered by the police and investigations were under way.
