Lahore: Man shoots brother to death for property
LAHORE: A man gunned down his elder brother, a quack, over a property dispute in North Cantonment police limits on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Hakeem Qadeer, a resident of Joray Pull.
An eyewitness told the reporters that one Hakeem Basheer, father of Qadeer and Kabeer, had transferred the ownership of a land in the Barki area in the names of his two sons during his life. He said after the death of Hakeem Basheer, his son Kabeer started forcing his elder brother to give him the piece of land facing the road. Qadeer, however, refused to do so.
“Both the brothers quarreled over the same issue again on Saturday,” he added. According to police, on Saturday morning when Kabeer visited the aforesaid land, he found out that some farmers were working on the land. He asked them to leave. “The farmers told him that they had acquired the land on lease from Qadeer,” said a senior police officer.
According to him, Kabeer rushed to Qadeer’s shop and exchanged harsh words with him. Later, Kabeer brought a pistol from his house and visited his brother’s place again.
