Lahore: Neighbours intervention saves woman’s life
LAHORE: A few neighbours immediately responded to the hue and cry of woman, who was being brutally stabbed by her husband over some domestic issue, and managed to save her life here in Green Town area, police said on Friday. The neighbours also thrashed the man, overpowered him, and later handed him over to the police.
Police said that resident of Keer Kalan village, Mahboob Shah, forced his entry into the room and stabbed his wife repeatedly. The woman, identified as Ghulam Kubra, started making hue and cry and called the neighbours’ help.
A few her of neighbours immediately responded, overpowered the man and called in the police. The injured was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition.
The police reached the spot and arrested the man, said to be a private security guard. The accused later told investigators that his wife had developed illicit relations with some men therefore, he wanted to kill her.
According to the police the mother of six, Ghulam Kubra, was residing alone somewhere for the last two years. On the day of incident, she came back home to see her kids. She was asleep with her eldest daughter when her husband stormed into the bedroom and attacked her. The police have registered the case against the man and are investigating.
