Karachi: 4 arrested in targeted operations
KARACHI: Sindh Police Monday claimed to have arrested four criminals and recovered weapons from their possessions from the metropolis in separate raid operations from two different areas.
At least three suspected persons were apprehended during a search operation in Baloch Goth, Orangi Town. The operation was conducted by the police in two different localities of the Orangi Town, including Baloch Goth and Shah Faisal Mohalla. During the two-hour-long search operation at least 10 police mobile units, comprising 60 personnel, participated in the operation.
According to SHO Asif Rauf, the search operation was launched on reports about the presence of the street criminals and drug peddlers, adding that three men involved in the street crimes and drug peddling were taken into custody whereas police also recovered narcotics from their possessions. The cases against the arrested men were being registered and further investigation was in progress, the officer added.
Meanwhile, the Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police arrested an alleged street criminal from North Karachi.
According to police official, the accused, identified as Ghulam Hussain alias Shedu was arrested after an encounter along with a TT pistol and stolen motorcycle.
DSP Altaf Hussain said the accused was involved in several cases of street crimes in the posh areas of the city. Police have registered an FIR (508/11) and further investigation was in process.
