HAFIZABAD: The police have so far failed to arrest former Pindi Bhattian tehsil nazim Mian Ansar Abbas Bhatti and five others, who were booked on the charges of killing a woman and forcibly marrying her 12-year-old daughter with a man three days ago.
Reportedly, Asif Ali Babar, a resident of Chakiwala village, had contracted second love marriage on the promise of marrying his 12-year-old sister with his brother-in-law but his mother Khurshid Bibi was against it.
Asif Ali with the help of former tehsil nazim Ansar Abbas Bhatti and six others, including Saifullah, Mansab Ali, Amanullah and Muhammad Bashir, allegedly shot his mother Khurshid Bibi dead. After the murder, Asif married his sister to his brother-in-law.
The police had registered a case against the former tehsil nazim, Asif Ali Babar and six others on the report of the deceased brother Riaz Hussain Bhatti but the police have so far arrested only one accused.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, Riaz Hussain Bhatti, brother of Khurshid Bibi, said that the former tehsil nazim was the main accused in the case but the police were allegedly siding with him. He has demanded Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif order the police to arrest Ansar Abbas and other accused.
