Criminal gang busted in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Police have arrested all the members of one of the most notorious criminal gangs in the region involved in hundreds of cases of theft and street crimes throughout the province, a police official said in a press conference here on Tuesday.



At his office, the Senior Superintendent of Police Hyderabad, Syed Asad Raza Shah, said that the in-charge of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Zulfiqar Arain, apprehended five criminals who worked as a gang and were amongst the most wanted as they were involved in more than 30 cases of banditry in various localities of Karachi and 10 robberies in many areas of Hyderabad, along with street crimes, snatching of mobile phones, cash and others articles.

The SSP said that the police recovered stolen jewellery, four mobile phones, six wrist-watches along with two Kalashnikovs and three pistols from them. The police official said that the gang was committing crimes for a long time at Bahadurabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Defence Housing Authority and Clifton, in Karachi.
