Shergarh: Man charged with issuing bogus cheque
SHERGARH: The Shergarh Police have registered a case against a man for issuing bogus cheque of Rs0.3 million to a man here the other day.
Complainant Munir Ahmad, son of Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Shergarh, told the police that he had trustworthy relations with the accused Muhammad Aslam S/O Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Hassan Pura as both had also been working together as tractor dealers.
The accused borrowed Rs300,000 from him for some urgency and gave him a cheque of his Account No 7211-6 at the National Bank branch of Shergarh for 02-11-11 in the presence of two witnesses Mazhar Abaas S/O Muhammad Rafeeq and Muhammad Ihsan S/O Muhammad Shafi. The cheque, however, was dishonoured by the bank due to insufficient amount when he went to withdraw the money.
When he went to the accused along with the witnesses and demanded his money, the accused got infuriated, threatened him with dire consequences besides refusing to return the money.
The police have registered a case under Section 489-F against the accused.
