Karachi: Alleged target killer nabbed

KARACHI: The Frere police on Thursday arrested an alleged target killer involved in kidnapping for ransom and land grabbing cases. The police recovered two pistols and a number of bullets from him.

A police team, led by the SHO Frere police station, signalled a suspicious vehicle to stop near Khaliq-uz-Zaman Road. On seeing the police mobiles, the suspects opened fire and tried to escape.

However the police chased the vehicle and arrested the suspect. During the initial interrogation, the suspect disclosed his name as Gulzar alias Bhado. He also admitted that he, along with his accomplices, had killed more than 70 people, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ghulam Akbar Magsi and three policemen in Larkana.



The suspect also claimed that he was involved in kidnapping for ransom and land grabbing in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Surjani Town.

PPI adds: A robber disguised as a faith healer was apprehended by the Landhi police on Thursday.

The police recovered a pistol and a motorcycle from his possession. Khalid Saifullah alias Talha was arrested by the police after receiving complaints from a number of citizens. The suspect used to introduce himself to the people with four different names. The police have registered a case and have started probe.
