Multan: Human trafficker jailed for 210 years
MULTAN: Special Judge Central Multan/FIA Mazhar Hussain Chaudhry sentenced a human trafficker to 10-year in prison in each offence in 21 different cases.
The court found Muhammad Sharif Shahani guilty of fraudulently inducing to emigration and receiving money for providing foreign employment.
The accused, who belongs to Dera Ghazi Khan, was arrested by the FIA in July 2010. During interrogations the accused confessed to his crime and revealed that he and his accomplices trafficked people to gulf states by using sea route.
The court handed down a total 147-year imprisonment under Section 22 of the Emigration Act and 63-year imprisonment under Section 17 of the Emigration Ordinance.
A total of Rs1.57 million fine was also imposed on the convict and in case of default he would have to undergo an additional imprisonment of 15 years and 9 months.
